Currently have an 07 battle bike for track.
found a cheap 05 as a wet bike and was wondering what differences are there in the front end geometry and could i fit the later radial front end into it without any problems or is it not worth it.

the radial equipped forks will fit straight into the 05 triple clamps to give you the radial callipers you desireā¦.
does your battle bike have the R fork and longer rear R shock? If so to keep it all in line you'll need a set for the 05- R forks and shock are longer than standard to raise the ride height.

Not worth the trouble.
The P4 calipers are fantastic.

I have a question
I would change 05' SD shock to 09' SDR shock.. (I have a good offer)
Does it make sense?

09 shock will fit but will raise the rear of the bike a lot higher than standard.... You need to fit the longer sdr front forks at the same time to maintain the correct geometry
So yes it will fit but you will need to address the front end at the same time....

After pulling my SDR forks apart, I think they just have an extra spacer in them... There are 3 large spacers in there on top.
Could be wrong though...

From the KTM published WP fork/shock manuals:
08 SDR forks 757mm / 06SD forks 757mm overall length.
08 SDR Shock 393mm / 06SD shock 387mm overall length.

My bike is an '07 and I have SDR forks fitted which I believe are the same length as the original '07 forks. They have different internals though. I also have an SDR rear shock fitted which is a stronger orange spring than the original white spring. 185 as apposed to 175.
The big difference in the set up between the two shocks is that at my weight, (14 stone), the 175 has to be set on almost maximum pre-load to get the right static sag and the 185 is the opposite. The difference in the ride is that the 175 is better suited to road riding and the SDR shock is firmer and better suited for tracks. I seem to keep the 185 spring on all the time now but it is a bit harsh for UK roads really, especially round where I live.
I honestly can't tell the difference if the 185 spring is 10mm longer and the steering geometry changes to effect turn in and stability. The bike handles well whatever.
