I ordered at dongle for my 1290 hoping just to save my drive mode. As in sport, street, rain. Not abs or MTC settings, although great to have that option also. Connected it today, set to street, turned the bike off, waited for the taillight to flash turned the ignition back on, only to have street mode back. Supposedly, my bike had the latest update that I've read on this site updates the CPU to hold last drive mode after ignition has been turned off. Anyone know if the dongle and "latest" update is supposed to hold drive mode?

Mate you have the tendency to post questions like this when I have a bad day!!!!

This has been answered before there is a search function on this site!

Now specially for you!

THE DONGLE DOES NOT RETAIN THE RIDE MODE! NEVER DID AND NEVER WILL!
THE DONGLE ONLY RETAINS THE TC AND ABS FUNCTION!

THE DRIVE MODE IS STORED IN THE DASH, GET YOUR DEALER TO UPGRADE THE SOFT IN THE DASH TO 2.22 OR SOMETHING.

Guy, I know I read the "claims" on this site that there was an update. But SUPPOSEDLY I have the latest 1290 update and nothing has changed. That's why I asked, because I'm confused as to what the F is going on.

This is what I read that I wrongfully assumed drive mod was part of....This little Dongle or whatever you want to call it allows you to manipulate your tracking control, ABS Settings and lots more without the having to reset all of those settings every time you turn the bike off and on. Just like the Dongle made for the 2014 690 Enduro R and 1190 Adventure this easy to install module saves your settings and allows you to jump back on the bike and go without having to thumb through the left side switch assembly and turn on or off any of the settings you do or don't like to ride with. It's worth the money!

Plus Guy, I have to apologize for my inability to understand and rationalize things I read. This was almost 5 years ago while I was in school to be a commercial helicopter pilot. This guy makes a left in front of me, I t-bone him on my 8 day old ducati multistrada 1100s. As you can see its a work truck with the rack on the back. The left side of my helmet hit the bar going up to the rack while the right hit the cab where it curves around to the back glass. I recieved brain injury. I didn't know who I was, who my parents were, who my girlfriend or any of my friends were, or how old I was, for about a month. Hardly any sense of smell or taste. The FAA has taken my medical so I can't fly anything right now, plane or helicopter. So if I seem hard to deal with and quite retarded, well thats because the new me is very much so. So please try to bare with some of my stupid questions, which might need to be explained with very small words.
