Also a meh. Just couldn't get excited about riding a IL4 on the roads. On the track is different but that does little for me.

not bad but vtwin is better for the road also would imagine that the price is higher than the new sd although maybe only slightly more but this good that other manufactures are coming out with better and proper sport nakeds although it does seem for the moment that its only the european ones that undersdtand what a sport naked should be like

That headlight is precisely why I could never bring myself to buy a BMW... They are great to ride, but they are Fugly.

I like it. A lot.

2014 is shaping up to what may be the best year for "naked" bikes since the 70s. And ironically this time around, it looks like almost all of the best stuff is coming from Europe.

In terms of pricing, I bet it comes in at, or very near whatever the new Tuono does (http://www.cycleworld.com/2013/07/24/20 ... ew-photos/). By my best guess, that will be about ~2K less than a 1290. Another way of looking at it, is that it will have to be somewhat less expensive than the S1000RR.

Better looking than a Tuono V4R ... And when it ends up crushing the 1290 in all the comparos, guess what the poseurs will be buying ...

Love it or hate it - if it's for real, it's likely to sell better than the new SD 1290R. Particularly if BMW has them in showrooms in the US before KTM does.

^^^Yep^^^

Will definitely be cheaper than 1290. Not a fan of IL4s but if it works and has the torque could be a contenda....

And yes....as I've mentioned in previous posts, 2014 is shaping up to be a banner year for us naked sportbike aficionados! Can't wait to see what Yamaha have up their sleeve (certainly wasn't imressed with the Kawasaki effort for far too many reasons to list).

It looks to me like BMW de-nutted the S1000RR motor. Here is a link to the webpage that hosted the video. http://www.nieuwsmotor.nl/motornieuws/1 ... -bike.html In the article they say BMW has not released the specs for the bike.

However, those with keen eyes will note that the S1000R redline now starts at 11K - precisely where the S1000RR goes completely mental. And the S1000RR made its peak HP at 13K - which is well into the redline now. Hence my opinion that BMW denuded that awesome motor. Glad I didn't wait.

If they tuned this thing for torque they would definitely lower the RPM range. This can be done without neutering a bike. It's just that the japs haven't figured that out yet.

Maybe Yamaha with a litre class triple will break the mold....

160hp is all it makes.
