That's why I bought a so called, smart phone - the Nokia Spaz (I have no idea what model it is), which allegedly comes with free gps mapping. Despite the fact that the Nokia Spaz comes with no instructions, because it's "intuitive" to use, I foolishly expect that it will work and be a life enhancing purchase..
So I decide to try and use the “free” mapping on my Nokia Spaz....
Before the f-ucking thing will work, it tells me it needs to download some f-ucking software shit or something, so I tell it to do it. It’s on for a about two f-ucking minutes, then it tells me its f-ucked up the download, does it want me to try again? I tell it not to bother because I’m already loosing the will to live. Another minute later I get a text to tell me that the f-ucked up download has cost me £9.85 of the £10 worth of fooking credit I had and that I’ve got to put more f-ucking money in it if I want it to do any-fucking-thing.
In the pantheon of retarded, f-ucked up pieces of shit, I wish I’d never bought, the Nokia Spaz is right up there. In fact it’s on the top of the f-ucking pile. I’m nano-seconds away from modifying it with a hammer right now.

My guess is they are pulling your pants down charging you for the data you're downloading. You can download on the interweb onto your pc and then install onto your spaz. Having said that Nokia are w4nk. I'd sell it on ebay if I were you.

I have a sony smart phone . Its always free to download with . Wireless or not . The trick is to be a grown up and not have pay as you go . Pay as you go is an expensive rip off and really just for kids . Contract is the only way to use a smart phone . With unlimited downloads and sending capacity for free it all then makes sense . You can have it preforming multiple tasks and removes the need to lug a laptop and camera and phone mine is even got a distance mesurer removing the need to carry a laser tape, the sat nav is very good and has also removed that from my daily carry crap . On many occasions I no longer need a rucksac I can do it all with the smart phone and for a bike rider, compact and small is a winning situation .

iPhone's, Android OS phones by Samsung, HTC & Sony are all very good SMART PHONES. If what you want is a great mobile phone on the other hand, then buy a cheap POS phone by anyone and it will be a great phone! The smartphone is essentally a Spork, which is great if you want one, if you dont then buy a knife, spoon & fork. Or a separate MP3 player, GPS, Mobile & PSP/GB. My opinion is slightly conflicted, I've a and Smartphones users generate revenue for me, which proves their massive popularity & gets my vote.
