A few weeks ago I noticed some parts for sale here. I contacted the member and we worked out a deal with shipping. He lives in Canada and suggested waiting till he came to the US to ship the parts to save on the related cost......good idea! After he'd shipped them I get this email:

"Hey man - here's the tracking number. I noticed one of the end caps for the pegs was missing when I was packing things up, so I took the liberty of ordering some from the uk directly to you. Hopefully there in a couple weeks ....
Cheers man!"

In this day and age it's so easy for people to just brush things off to the next guy. Not that the caps were a big deal and I'd probably not even given it a thought if one were missing. The simple fact that he stepped up to make things right no matter how trivial speaks volumes to me. It would have been simple to just say "ah well, it's just a plastic cap"

I felt that his actions deserved a mention.

So here's to you GeneralLee! If you're ever over my way hit me up and I'll buy you a beer!

Thanks again!

Darren

I agree, it's seemingly little things like that that reflect a more general attitude toward others and towards life. Well done

Ha- just saw this.
Like most of us, I've bought plenty from users on forums all over the place. It's never cool opening a package you've been waiting patiently for only to discover that you've gotten screwed or played somehow. Glad it all was to satisfaction, Darren!
Of all the different bike-specific forums I've been on, the SD 990 peeps here have been some of the most helpful and standup bike enthusiasts I've come across. So maybe it's just the bike ...

I guess that it's as a result of us being a relatively small community of like-minded individuals, united by our love for the SuperDuke. The forum appears to be refreshingly free of idiots, keyboard warriors and trolls, again probably due to it being a "special interest" zone. Were this a more mainstream arena then there would be the usual infestation of dickheads to put up with. Even though our relatively small membership is scattered right around the world, there isn't the vitriol, name-calling and generally offensive behaviour that blights so many other fora. The guy you call an asshole this week could have the answer to your technical problem next week and if you burnt your bridges in a fit of keyboard courage you won't be enlightened by the wisdom of the offended party. (Hopefully that sort of tosser is swiftly ejected from the group)

Integrity seems to be a hit or miss situation that exists throughout all worldly endeavour. It is a good thing to call out the altruistic as well as the pathetic. Generally speaking General Lee is a stand up guy. Thanx for the post, it helps restore that tiny little thread of hope in mankind. Now let me tell you about that sonofabitch than burned me last.............
