This type of water transfer printing has been around for a long time. We did a lot of testing for printing graphics and decoration on bottles in the early '90's when the surface was compound and not able to take a paper label. But it is very slow and therefor expensive and not really commercially viable for that use.

Biggest problem is that it distorts too much and in an unpredictable way so you can't do lettering or anything like photographic images. Which is why nearly all applications are kept to abstract patterns or natural images because it doesn't really matter whether they distort or not. Trying o replicate carbon weave always looks shit

Looks like it does amazing smoke, flame, liquid and cammo paint jobs. Pity they seemed to be doing mostly fake carbon fibre.

My guess is they are just using CF pattern to show what they can do.

Back in the 60's we used fancy lace table cloths and a rattle can.

So my bud gets his car repainted. Took the wind wappers off for painting and needed to put them back on. For some odd reason, the windshield wipers switch was left on and the rotation of the shaft was at full swing on. He puts the blades on and starts the car and the wipers do a big swing right across his new paint job.
