Going to go look at a 2013 EXC 500 w 200 miles on it tomorrow, with a pocket full of cash. Super pumped! More so I think when I bought my SD, or pretty damn close. My do all, year round, be all bike! I've been waiting for one of these bitches for awhile. I've got my mods all written on paper, then it's the PC and the credit card... Good times.

I took the reverse shifter off...I don't need any "do I shift up or down ...?"plus the other off-road is standard. My brain is already fooked up enough, I don't need to confuse it more.

Saw the bike today...fooker is cherry/choice. Cobwebs around a 2013 motor, no shit. Bike still has the factory oil in it... The bad part, I just dropped $1300 on gear for it, and I still need a pipe/head pipe, flush signals for the rear, busters w integrated signals, and a skid plate. Desmog, xc-w map check.

Picked up a Shoei Hornet DS matte black, and a smoke shield for it. Waiting for the post man for that!

Did some dual sport rides last year with both these bikes. Got done with one and I ask my bud where is his skid plate

Ha, right!! Who would even put one of those on!? Sad day today though. Sold my beloved Honda Ruckus to help fund all of this. I felt sick to my stomach after she left me. I'm picking up the EXC tomorrow, so I should feel better;)

Ya might keep you eyes open for a extra set of wheels...LC4 has a cush rear hub to make your bike last longer on the pavement.

You ride any dual sport events? They kick ass out here. Lot of old man talent there to show you how it's done.

Blackdogdualsport.com is one I have been know to ride.....Got 4th place last year. Got 1st place some time back. Last year I took two of my bikes, KTM 950 Adventure and my XR650R.

I'm looking for a supermoto kit for it. She'll be on the road during the week, in the dirt on the weekends. I have never done any enduro races, but that's what I'm getting into. Northern WI has a ton of trails, I've got family up there too... I'm going to race it at the local outdoor mx track too. Good times.

I'm so out of shape, not fat, that I'm pretty positive that I couldn't make an entire race as I sit here today. I hate fooking exercise and running!

I have, but I didn't seem to find what I was looking for? From my understanding, you need a caliper bracket relocator, I didn't see one kit that had one in it?? From my understanding, the kit should include 17" wheels (thinking excel), relocator bracket, over sized rotor, and a new caliper. Am I right?

I'm also throwing out the thought of just buying another set of 21/18 rims and then put a more street orientated on them. Thoughts on that?

What are you selling? I was planning on going with the Sicass hand guards, with the led signals built in. And flush mounts for the rear.

By no means do I make a lot of money. I'm a juvenile corrections officer with a base pay of like $38,000. I have to bust my ass working overtime to afford all this stuff. I earn about $12,000 from OT each year. I'm single with zero kids, so that helps.

Whoops, I kinda fooked that last post up a bit. I want your turn signals. I'm not selling, I'm buying.
Overtime you managed, to correct Juveniles while collecting enough money to go out and be juvenile. Sounds like a racket.

Back in the day I was rolling with the sportsman setup for a while. During that time I wish I had 17" wheels, so I eventually ended up buying 17" wheels anyways and was much happier. Just save up until you can afford the 17" wheels and everything else you need.

Behaving like a juvenile is the reason why I'm a juvenile corrections officer instead of a cop.

I got you, my money is going every which way right now and I need to prioritize. I'll let you know when they come off.

ktmguy, excellent!! Thank you, you now that looks a lot better than the $1800 Excel rims that saw the other day, a lot easier on my pocket... I'm going to look further into it. Yeah you lost me with the "trick" to run tubeless. I figured they would be tubeless? They're street tyres?

I got the bike today. The thing is so money, its fits me great. The power isn't all that crazy that I imagined, but that's with knobbies on. It hasn't wheelied on me yet, though I really haven't tested 1st gear yet. I imagine that a really healthy whack of the throttle I'm sure she'd come up. I found a construction/land development spot and ran her through some dirt and mud (this site had some amazing dirt...motocross like). Very fun and cool bike. Won't be able to get to the woods until the 21st. I'm sure I'm not going to get off of it.

I'm going to note; I dropped the oil as soon as I got home. My fooking god the SD is a bitch to do!! I nailed the oil level, which I have never done on my SD. I'm always sucking up some oil with my turkey baster, then putting some back it. It's a vicious cycle for me...

That a good DS site I posted up for ya. Spent a little time looking about. Noticed a bike thay was in Bend Oregon at the KTM rally last year. The 2 wheel drive Adventure with the aluminium gas tank. Small world.

Dual Sport rides are one of the best bangs for your buck going.

Enjoy

Thanks for the link man! When I was a little kid I lived in Wabeno...half of my family is still there. I've got nice family cabin on the lake to stay at. I was planning on going up there the 21st-23rd of this month, but my buddies bike isn't plated, and he won't be able to get it plated until next yr...the trails up there only allow plated machines, as we just found this out. So if I want to go up there, I'd have to go up by myself, which would be no fun. I don't know, we'll see. But there's other trail systems around the state that don't require the plates, we'll have a run at those.

To be honest though, this is all stressing me the fook out. With the purchase of the gear, which skid plate do I want, the one that works best for me? Do I need radiator guards right away? What aftermarket rims do I want to buy? Will I have room for the fold up trailer that I'm planning on buying tomorrow? Is the wheel chock going to be heavy-duty enough so I can haul my SD around too? What dirt and 50/50 tyres do I buy? What sizes do I buy. On and on. Stressing me the fook out.

And why can't I find a fooking set of DNA rims with rotors!!!!! I've been searching for the last 2 1/2hrs, plus some time last night. Everything is 21 with a 19"!! WTF! I found two websites in Europe that have the 21 and 18" combo, but I don't live in fooking Europe!

Here are the two sites:
http://mx-deals.nl/dna-ktm-sx-sxf-exc-wheels.html
http://sykatech.nl/ktm-dna-wheelset.html

NOTHING in the US!!! What the fook am I missing here!?!
