Bike back off the road again

Maybe it my Karma. Maybe it's that the bike has just passed the 20,000 mile mark but I'm having a string of bad luck at the moment. Bike went to Fowlers in Bristol yesterday to get a new set of tyres and front wheel bearings. I asked them to have a look at what might be causing a slight oil leak and when I went to pick it up they said that they'd removed the belly pan to find oil everywhere and hadn't yet sourced the reason. They also said that there had been some sort of mega overheating at the rectifier/regulator and all the wiring was fried. They have a replacement in stock but say that if the loom is damaged they will need to order in parts.

Maybe I should be thankful this came to light while actually at a workshop rather than leave me stranded at the side of a road one journey back to Surrey.

So off the road again until they can find the time to sort it all out.

Feel your pain, mine has all sorts of funny little niggles going on that all look like adding up to a big bill. Have you tried taking the rimtape off?

Well you are having a run of bad luck lately Bic. Must be that damn two stroke sitting in your garage spreading its evil about. No doubt its jealous of all the time you spend riding the SD.

One thing I learnt from ownership of 2 different Superdukes is there is a constant supply of niggly problems, pretty piss poor really considering what they cost new. Yes they are fun to ride but I struggle to recall a ride of any length where I hadn't got back and had a problem or notice something that needs fixing!

Oh and other thing is you need a spare bike to ride when the SD is in bits

Picked my bike up from Fowlers with a new set of wheel bearings, new tyres and a fixed electrical wiring problem.

Check out the melted connectors they had to replace from the Rectifier area of the bike. not sure what's caused this but it could must have been a bad failure at some point.
