Lately I've been taking the girl along for a ride... A lot and poor old Helga(05SD) is feeling a little tired.
With both her and I on the bike it's around 140kg(308.8lbs) fully geared.
So I'm thinking that the solution for me would be a larger more suited Naked bike. Being as I don't want to spend Mega $$$ I was thinking of buying a bigger faired bike that had been stacked and building my own.
My thoughts were:
CB1100XX
Hyabusa
ZX-14
Even just an MT-01
I don't know a great deal about european bikes as this is my first one.
Not really sure at all so I'm asking all and sundry of any thoughts on what they would think the ultimate 2-up Machine would be.

Unless you want to build something I would go for a rsv4 tuono. Plenty of grunt and doesn't look too bad to sit on the back.
The other thing is that you can pick up new 2010 model sportbikes like the ZX10 really cheap due to the new model.
It is tempting to do a conversion on one of those...

What sort of riding will this bike be for?
My SDR handles my weight fine (116kg + gear).
Will this still be a hooligan bike, or purely for 2 up touring?
Zx14 does well with 2 people on it, as does the Suzuki GSX1400. We did over 4000km 2 up in 6-7 days. That was both of us, plus 53L top box fully loaded, 2x 25L panniers and a tank bag, so well over 200kg and it was great. SWMBO says that it is so much better to have a grab rail rather than a seat strap to hold onto.
Other ones to look at are the 1050 triumph tiger, Hayabusa is comfy for both rider and pillion.
But with the amount of weight you are talking pretty much anything will be fine.

Yeh I hear that the 2011 slim girl model is a fairly cost effective trade up. If you can get a late model and no maintenance encumbrances you are made
Have a look through the "Naked Pictures" thread to get an idea of what is out there.
