OK, is there a polishing expert that can tell me what polish can be used on the black polished plastic that will not scratch the finish? I know Meguiars ultimate polish and microfiber towel will still scratch that surface. Part I'm trying to polish is the rest seat cover on a 1290.

You could try meguiars plastix.

I never polish that plastic, I just put tyre shine on it so it doesn't rot from the harsh sun here. (never put it on your tyres!)

I asked loads of polish gurus for you today. Turns out the ones at the car wash are actually Lithuanians (who knew?) and the ones doing farm work couldnt understand me.

Polish by definition has abrasive particles in it.

You want a wax or finishing sealant.

Beware - it can get addicting (so I've heard. I'd rather ride the bloody thing!)

I needed something that would take out my backpack rub marks but not to leave behind the scratches of doing so. So probably something with very very fine abrasive qualities to it that could take out light polish scratches.
