My bike misfire is mended. It was sent to HMRacing who diagnosed that it was a corroded wiring loom in their own quick shifter. This is a replacement part so not so dear to fix.
They also say that my brake judder is down to a slight warped disc so now I need to get replacement rotors for my super expensive Braketech carriers. This time I've ordered a set of stainless rotors because, much as I like the cast iron, they are a pain in winter with all their corroding and orange dust and seizing up every morning when they get wet.

Glad the misfire is sorted m8. You might find the pressure plate has worn. Those GSXR plates fix the problem.

Thanks for earlier messages of help Craig. I suspected it was the quick shifter so thought it best to get it back to HM to sort out. Turns out the right decision in the end as they have the bits to fix at hand.
Those bloody clutches! I did feel a bit of slip recently when really hammering it in 4th and 5th gears but it wasn't that bad on road. It's all about logistics now. HM don't have much room to store bikes. They could look into the clutch issue for me if they can fit it into their fully booked schedule as they are also a major dealer for Suter clutches but I want the bike back for my commute to Bristol and I also have to factor in the currier service that can pick up the bike and deliver it back to me because HM aren't open at the weekend.
It will all sort itself out I'm sure!

You know if the pressure plate is showing wear they will say you need a new one and they are NOT cheap! Add a 2.6mm GSXR plate and it's problem solved

How many miles has the clutch done Bic? I'm running a Suter also, and wondering about my wear rate.
My clutch has about 25,000 klm trouble free so far.

Hey Reb.
It's all a bit of a blur to me, the miles, the times, the years. I think I fitted the Suter clutch about six years ago and then both Klinky and me both experienced clutch slip when we put MH boxes on with all the other mods and raised the HP up a lot. Got that fixed by fitting a stronger Suter pressure plate (they don't use conventional springs) and then I also fitted a new set of clutch friction plates about two years ago.
I would guess I've done about 10.000 miles on road and track since then.
But I would not think the friction plates are worn down to minimal tolerance in that time. I guess if there is clutch slip then it just needs an even stronger pressure plate fitted. The dyno shows my set up is pretty good power and torque and it probably overwhelms the standard set up even with uprated spring when on full power.

Hey guys,
Yes I will be there early I hope - from opening time till I get bored. Probably at least till midday. I'm meeting up with a guy from from work who has a beard so I will hide behind it and pretend it is mine if anyone looks at me the wrong way.
I may come on the H2 or the SD as it has been delivered back all fixed up.
My phone number is 07866433296 if you want to ring me. Last year it was easier to just meet at "the bar" than try and find anyone in the crowds.
Luke, you're right, after a guy there told me they were a Suter supplier they later rang me and tried to get me to junk my Suter clutch and fit an STM one instead because they were "better". Ha ha.

Bic just in case there was some confusion in my post, the pressure plate is the plate that bolts on to the outside of the clutch with the 6 small hex bolts and moves out to release the pressure holding the pack tightly when you pull the clutch in. It's not the main spring we both had to change. The pressure plate wears over time as the last friction plate is against it. So you need to build out the pack thickness to take this into account. A 2.3mm GSXR steel should do it, a 2.6 certainly will if that doesn't. I think the pressure plate is over £500 to replace A shop will just say you have to replace it which is bollocks.

Thanks for the advice mate, I didn't realise that.
To be honest I haven't felt any clutch slip at all since we resolved our slip two to three years ago. Maybe I'm not riding hard enough! I'll take it out at the weekend and have a go at making it slip - used to do it in 4th as the power really came on but you had to really slam the throttle wide and if you fed in a bit gently it would hold. I'll see but I doubt the friction plates are below tolerance because I only put them in last year.

If it's not slipping in 4th, 5th or 6th when you roll it on I'm sure it's all fine m8.
