Have recently seen a couple of speedo's on ebay displaying the same damage. To me it looks like somebody
is trying the 06 to 07 speedo conversion which requires a pin 4 change (as well as other changes). If this is
the source of the damage then there is an easier method than mucking around with the pins at the connector.
Embedded below the two separate examples I have seen. Anyone got any other ideas?

Ah Bert. I never wrote to thank you for all the hard work you did on those conversion threads.
That drawing you found on a German site (above) is pure gold. For a non-German speaker I had to do
a fair bit of linguistic conversion including the colors but none-the-less it is still gold.
One day, when I find a bit of time, I intend to put together a new how-to without the distractions
inherent in a thread - a simple "cut the blue and white wire here and connect to ...". My feeling is
that circuit diagrams and discussion of line 169 Etc are merely confusing details. Any day now I'm
going to order a whole lot of original connectors for both 06 and 07's and make some conversion
cables that are just plug and play for both years. That way I'll be able to leave the originals in place
but move the instruments and shells between my two bikes - including the race mask if I ever find
one (06).
I'd like to also thank Waynder, Harvester, Looney888, Resmas, Samba and anyone else I might have missed.
All of the information is there it just needs editing.

Yes, thanks guy.
Although this diagram is gold I think it might be a little unclear about how to achieve the end result.
The stuff at the bottom about swapping red/black to pin 4 might account for the photo's above.
It doesn't need to be done at the 20 pin plug - it can be achieved in a different way. I'm currently
waiting on KTM connectors then I'll post my diagrams and photo's of plug-and-play cables.
