Fact or fiction.. Rossi going to Honda?

Reports that Rossi has approached Honda for a factory bike for 2012? whether they do or don't, is this legit, or a pressure move from Rossi to get Ducati to build the alloy frame ? Apparently he's prepared to forfeit his second season of contract to Ducati and the financial penalty to break his contract?

When you consider his greatness and undisputed ability,is his desire (ego) strong enough to pull this stunt and forgo his beloved Italian roots to defect to a Jap manufacturer to save face at all costs?

What do you think?

If I had earned as much as Rossi has in his lifetime AND I had the ability to win races I'd be choosing a company that could provide a bike capable of letting me win. Loyalty is a quaint ideal and money is a nonsense. At the end of the day all that counts is fame and all it brings.

nah the dude will stay with and eventually win on Ducati, he likes a challenge. if you read all the slag (the posts) on Crash.com people just slam the dude. but if you actually read Rossi's comments you will see he
and Ducati are serious about it. its just a matter of them getting everything to come together, and it will happen.

Fiction.

I don't think he's quite ready to ride in a satellite team yet.

Its total fiction.
Marco Melandry said to some Italian journos that Rossi would be on a Honda next year as a joke when they asked for his opinion of Rossi and the problems at Ducati.
The journos all knew it was a joke but they reported it as a fact in next days papers.
This is how it all starts.

Even if he wanted to Rossi couldn't get a ride on a satellite Honda let alone a works one.
Honda hate Rossi for what he said when he left them and now they have a bike and the riders to beat Rossi which has been HRCs raison d'etre ever since he defected to Yamaha.
Yamaha chose Lorenzo over Rossi and won a world championship with him so there's no way back there.
Suzuki is a dog and they look as though they are going to try to compete with an 800 next year if they turn up at all.
What's left? BMW?
Harris/WCM Suzuki?
Rossi is an Italian racing for THE Italian marque. He's not going to quit and Burgess and Co. won't either. They halved the original gap last weekend so they may even be competitive by the end of the year. Who knows?

Never. He has won a race every year since he joined in 96.

Ducati is now developing an aluminium twin-spar chassis thanks to Rossi pressure. My personal opinion is that ducati should go back to their signature trellis design, except upgrade it to Titanium.

He wont leave Ducati until he gets the bike sorted (for him)

Same as he did with Yamaha, its the challenge, thats what makes Rossi tick
