I wonder how well that would work from farther away. It is clearly affected by the flash differently than the original plate is (as you can see in the viewfinder, the picture is perfect until the flash goes off). The problem is that as you get farther away, the less effect the flash has. It might still be helpful at night but during the day, I'd venture to guess that you couldn't tell the difference.

Edit: I'm not making any claims about how effective these methods are, I don't think he ever deliberately tested it.

I think you did not venture too far. Plus the further away, the longer the light takes to travel, making the camera get exposed prior to the flashes effect.

I'm guessing that you are one of the lucky ones that had the turbo version that we couldn't get over here.

I'm slowly restoring up my late grandfather's w123 300d ... They are beautiful old things that are built solidly and super comfortable. Im wanting to source one of the turbo motors from the states in the near future... Just to give the ol girl some extra legs.

Other grandfather had the old saab... of the same shape as yours... have a soft spot for them and their quirky desgins. Had for a year or two also. Good things. And before you start thinking I'm old cos of these cars. . Im 27.
