Fitting SDR triple clamps - soon

So finally I get a weekend free to fit my black, machined SDR triple clamps I got off Ebay months ago, to my 'O7 bike. Got up early and get the bike round to the door step of the house but it's pissing down with rain and the ramp I usually use to get the bike inside won't give enough grip to get the bike up it. Wheels spinning and the bike's going no where. There's a really high chance I'll drop it if I keep on trying on my own. So now I've got three texts out to neighbors asking for some help to get the bike in but it's only 9 o'clock and no one seems to be up. Itching to start but I can't, just have to sit here waiting for help.

I get the bike inside with help from a neighbor and first thing is take off the front wheel and brakes. Got a shock when I pulled the pins and clips out of the Brembos. Two, (one each side) of the pads had completely de-laminated from their metal backs and just fell out onto the floor! Bit of a shock really, they looked OK a few weeks ago so must have just happened since I did a big ride to Bristol. Not a nice thought as to what might have happened on a fast ride with this happening on the move.

Shade, if I took a run up that ramp I'd be doing an Evel Knievel over the kitchen worktop and end up with my head down the dish washer!
Just ordered some EBC HH pads from Gear4, £40 a side - is this a fair price? Haven't got time to shop about today, want them delivered fast.

its not a bad price from a dealer, i usually pay just under £30 a side from ebayers.

I was only joking about the run up Bic )

Next job is to get my spare swingarm modded with some bracing, (based on GoGo's design), and then get it powder coated black and on there! This summer's major project.

The table in the foreground is Walnut.

Made and fitted that kitchen myself was a labour of love and took weeks. It's a wood called Wenge and is second hardest timber after ebony. I wish I could say it was ethically sourced but afraid not, I think it's one of those materials that will not be possible to get pretty soon. I got it direct from a Scottish importer but it was still horrendously expensive. But, living in an open plan space the kitchen always becomes a main feature and this is paying off now because the place is up for sale and all the prospective viewers are always totally smitten with the kitchen - even though it's all built on Ikea carcasses and doors - they don't see beyond the tops!

Also if you carelessly drop a spanner or bit of bike it doesn't dint!!

I don't think the swingarm has changed from the '07 to the '08 onwards. In fact I didn't think the swingarm has changed since the SD launch - I hope not because the spare one I've got is from an '05!!!

Have just checked out Tri-Valley on price for the swing arm mod,,,$800 USD for the complete job, installed,,,but, they need the bike to do it,, they say that every bike is slightly different and with the close tolerance's involved there was no way to make a "jig" for the bracing ,,,sooo, there's no way I can get the bike to em 3000 miles away to do the job, but you Cali guy's,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
