hard cold starting

My bike the last 15 starts or so has had trouble starting when "cold" and I mean from 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Today it was 88 degrees and it would not start and idle without opening the throttle and reving for a minute or so. Once warm the bike idles and runs normal. Now the thing is, I was picking up my bike from ktm who tried to figure out why it spit coolant a couple times, so they earlier had it hooked up to the diagnostic machine and showed no codes. The service writer was right there when it gave me trouble and said this must be the hard cold starting issues you mentioned. He said he would check with ktm if they have heard of cold starting issues and what their remedy was. My bike has gone through the winter here in Arizona, so "cold" 45 degree nights, but the bike started just fine.
Have any of you experienced hard cold starting issues? If so were you able to remedy it? My bike has 21,000 miles and I use chevron or shell(good gas)91 octane.

Maybe nothing to do with it, and just my two cents but I find my 1290 runs better on normal petrol (95 octane) when it is cold (UK).
