I've been with a lovely girl for just over 3 years now and I'm so lucky that she gets my passion for bikes, her,my sons and my 2 beautiful grandchildren. 3 years ago she wanted to go where I did on the bike. Now she knows going with my son on track days and ride outs and leaving her at home allows "blokes time" which keeps me happy and her content cos I'm not feeling guilty about going for a blast.
I just let her know I love her for letting me go and I don't slob out in front of the TV at weekends when she need stuff doing. I just get stuff done before she gets a chance to do it herself.
This works for a good relationship.
How does it work for you guys?

My girl has zero interst in bikes. She'll go to a motoGP with her Mum (who loves them) and enjoy the day though.
She loves to snowboard in winter, and do her martial arts training / fighting.
Lisa knows I enjoyed riding on track and was happy for me to do that.

This post may be the one that sums up why having the right mate that understands the passion of two wheels is what makes that mate and two wheels click. It does not put either into a differant category, they tend to accentuate each other. There have been times when I would feel that a ride out or a track day with a friend was asking too much on the home front. There was trepidation on my part to ask if disapearing for a couple days was out of the question. Only too have my wife say why don't you check the Buttonwillow track schedule and book a sunday and monday. It was if she new that was what I needed to make my equilibrium right. It was almost spooky how she could read me. I have been with her for thirty years and she has seen me return with big smiles and renewed life on maany occasions.

Careful what you wish for. After 20 years sitting on the back the missus finally decided to get her own. Credit due she does a decent job on a ZZR250 but you always seem to be waiting a bit for her somewhere,
That said we just rode around Laos for 3 weeks,me on an XR250 Baja and her on a XR230. Sheer mountain drops, heaps of 180 degree hairpins with buses coming around. I was shitting myself with worry about her for the first week or so but in the end gave up and finally started to enjoy myself. She put me to shame on how hard she could push it.
Love it and love her.

My Girlfriend is so small at 5ft3 and 7.5 stone that when on the back of the bike with my 15 stone its less noticable than a set of panniers . She has a car licence but has not drove a car ever since the day she passed her test. I dread to think how bad she is in a car or on a bike when actually driving , so she will stay a passenger .

Hats off to the track day misses. I must say that's damn sexy too. You're a lucky man.
The wife and I came to an understanding, once SHE pointed out the obvious. (Maybe it wasn't so obvious to me at the time.)
" All the little things I buy to to look good for you, doesn't even come close to all the money you spend on motorcycles".
I hate it when she right.
