Thanks Asda, you mean spirited bastards. Won't be going to shop at your store anymore. If I don't pay now it will go up to £90

So let me get this straight, the store where you were spending your money called the parking police on you? Most lame.

Check out before you even think about paying it. Do a search on UKPC.
I got a ticket from a similar company in Leeds for parking in a car park and leaving the car park on foot (not using the shops that the car park was dedicated to). I followed advice and ignored the ticket. I got sent about 6 threatening letters and the original fine increased from £60 up to about £350. Eventually they just stopped sending the letters and that was the end of it.

Does Asda at least let you leave your helmet on while purchasing spirits?
looks like private property and the store is maybe a lease. I would not pay and notify the property OWNER of my intentions. WTF, no harm no foul, but still stinks

Have to agree with TimR, dont believe you have to pay supermarket parking fines, its a civil issue that they forward onto a parking firm (private) and they would have to pay to take you to court its not like the council enforcement where you would have to appear at a criminal court as its a civil issue

Pretty sure anyway, never had the problem personally but know of a colleague who was talking about it and you can just ignore it.

If purchased that wine Bic keep your receipt for proof. It may help you.

Yeah, I was only reading something today about this kind of fine being virtually unenforceable as it's not an official fine from a government body.

"evidence associated with the alleged contravention"

Ask them what local bylaw you contravened, it's that simple. You didn't contraviene any, just their made up one which is totally unenforceable.

Did it say anywhere that you could not park a motorized bike where you did?

That's mean but mainly your own fault Bic!
If instead of the yam scoot, you would ride the SD to the shop dressed in worn leathers with plenty of chains and bikie logos attached to it, you'll look due to your lack of sleep like a mad biker on crack. No one in their right mind would write you up or even look at you.
just perfect the "I'll jam your head down your troat if you look at me " stare and all be fine! You might even get some booze for free!

I cam across a unique situation... I got a parking ticket from the council... i didnt pay it, they threatened to send it to sper (some law enforcing group if you fail to pay a fine... like a government based debt collector)... funny thing is it must be a minimum of $200 dollars for sper to take it on... was only $100 fine... the local council are not allowed to go higher than 30%increase in ticket cost.

so if I dont pay, there is nothing they can do... as far as I can tell anyway. I may recieve something in the mail at some stage from sper but i dont mind paying them anyway... I have direct debit set up with them anyway... so no fuss.

i just refuse to pay the useless local council on principle.
