This is the 600 engine off my old 2008 gsxr 600.
The chain snapped while I was riding it and whacked this hole into the motor.
I'm wondering if this is fixable? It's just been sitting in my garage for 2 years

I know of a couple of engine cases sealed with liquid metal. Not sure if that hold is too big and of course it could always fail so is a bit of a temp fix.

here in mexico we fill it with alu TIG welding, heck, here we´ll shure as hell TRY to fix anything and succeed in most ( compromising safety of course )

Do you still have the broken pieces from the casing or were they lost?
Alu TIG is certainly an option BUT it will have to be done very carefully so as not to warp the castings.... TIG 'ing to to a joint like that will then require milling back to create a good enough finish for the casing gasket to seal the joint. This is exactly the damage that a friend did to his 750 GSXR, got it welded but it still weeps oil.
Seems crazy that they don't put some sort of chain catcher on these bikes.....
