took of my rear cam cover to fix a leak around the coil pack tube,. thought I would have a look down the inlet tract and there is a little bit of coolent lying on top of one of the inlet valves on one side, what do you reckon strip engine and fit new gaskets throughout?
do I leave but keep an eye on or strip the feker

it isnt just the seal. The seal wears a groove in the shaft after approx 8-9k, at least it did on mine. Found a link to a fellow that did the same job on his 950 ADV here, it was quite informative. Parts cost about $120.00, took me 3 hrs to do start to finish.

Do these go as early as 8 or 9k?
Mine has just turned 8000 and I'm hoping because I'm doing a lot of short trips on it at the moment and never really getting it up to temp for longer periods is the reason I'm seeing some emulsion dumped in the airbox.

It should probably be pointed out to new owners to flush the system with a hose pipe and get rid of any residue from the casting.
