Kawasaki mirrors on the SD

I've had my digital camera/screen set up for a year or so but decided to go back to real mirrors. Hate the Superduke mirrors, especially the shape and rubber sleeves which split at the bottom. Been looking for ages for a set that suit the SD 'edge' styling and saw the Kawasaki Z750 at the London bike show last weekend. Quick internet trawl and I have a set of genuine Kwak mirrors. I think they suit the bike and just returning from a blast in the freezing weather this morning they work really well too.

Amy's away with the kids for the weekend so it's 'my time'. No DIY, no housework, no kids, no mess, no nappies, no 'bed time', no brushing teeth routine, no exhaustion.

My 19 year old son is staying. It's unadulterated bikes, workshop, oil, metal, overalls and dirt, booze, steaks, high cholesterol potato gratin, gin and tonics, red wine.

Happy day!

Did Skype Amy and the kids a few hours ago though. They've been gone for three days now I miss them so bad. Ha ha, what's the right balance eh?

Like those better than my (too short and small) Rizomas. What did they cost, Bic?

They were £29 each from a Kawasaki genuine parts shop. I found pattern parts on Ebay that were much cheaper, I think about £15 each but having experienced the Chinese parts they are not nice.

But.... I was in a bike shop today and the new Kawasaki Z800 has slightly different mirrors that would fit and they look even better, they have a more complicated shape but look a bit meaner. No doubt they will be more expensive!

I was looking for some used Rizoma mirrors for months and months but they never come up. But I was worried that they were too small and a bit 'style over function'. And they are SO expensive new.

I am wondering if they are not upsidedown and on the opposite side.

I agree. Hate all mirrors for what they do to the aesthetics. Bikes look best with no mirrors but if I'm going to have them then I might as well get some that work. Never really got on with bar end mirrors because they might be small but they make the bars wider. In traffic the last thing I need is a wider bike and yet that's exactly when I need the mirror to check what's going on just behind me!

I totally agree with the width issue, but my bar end mirrors are the same width as the stock mirrors.
