Knee operation done

So, 32 years after my original bike accident when my knee was smashed up, failed carbon ligament reconstruction, successive accidents, old age, four operations later, I am recovering from the latest one. Things have come on a lot over this time. I was in and out for keyhole surgery in six hours. Not sure what they have done but three small holes and whatever post op pain I'm meant to be feeling is way better than the last six months of pain.

I took it a bit easy yesterday but today was out on the Kawasaki testing my new GoPro. I've got a sticking float in the left carb so it was dripping petrol on reserve when I went out to the garage. Set off for the nearest petrol station but ran out of fuel two miles short. Not sure what the physio would say to me but pushing a 750 two miles up and down country lanes less than 24 hours after surgery is probably not what they recommend! Ha ha.

This is me 32 years ago in Preston Royal Infirmary.

Glad to hear it went well enough for you to be pushing a bike 24 hours later.

Sounds like you're gonna get a hell of a tutting from the misses and your Dr.

Comrade Bic: Isn't keyhole wonderful! I had mine done a few years ago and haven't looked back. My next tip as you age is to have spinal blocks for the rest of the body that needs fixing. I also had surgery recently and the good thing about being conscious is that you can see and check that the surgeon doesn't stuff up and leave the head nuts loose Speedy recovery.

Riding after surgery is like smoking after battle. It's makes no sense, but feels like the right thing to do at the time. Centers the mind, body and soul...maybe not so much body!
