I have a chance for a used set, they look new, at a decant price.
Anyone try these and is it worth buying?

I have them. They are not quite as light as the Akropovic slip ons, but still offer a significant weight reduction. I run mine with the baffles in. I think they look good, run cool and sound good. What else do you want to know?

Are those the ones on ebay USA?

I just bought a used set. I like em. Different fit and look than the round akras. They're oval and sit in tighter under the tail. Only had the bike running for 5min but they sound nice. Pretty much the same as akras but a bit bassier and deeper. Not tried them with the db killers in.

Got them on mine as well.

Came on the bike when I got it, but I'm happy with them. I would comment on the sound but can't remember what it's like normally, as I need to change the graphite gasket . I run with the baffles in and at the mo it is still a nice tone low revs/idle.

If it's a decent price, go for it, they are worth the money.

will buy them.
After asking the questions etc etc it seems an airbox, pipe, map revamp is worth the effort.
You guys are great

Skip, do you know what the sound is with baffles in?
Im afraid these will be way to loud where I live, Im downtown Toronto and I ride through the core often.

I think they are about 98 with the baffles in,maybe a bit less, certainly not obnoxious

Bought them.
They have what appears a 6 in tube that can fit in the end of the can with a smaller diameter, not installed.
Also in the kit is a set of discs with holes lasered in them, does anyone know what they are. If they do go in with the restricters it seems overkill.
They are nice and will be a winter project.

Yes the plates are for some kind of additional baffling, Pitch 'em... But dont wait to put these on 'this winter', put them on now, its an easy job...
I typically run without the baffles. They are very mild with baffles in except on WOT, but with baffles out they are still half as loud as a hardley, the difference is they sound great (never obnoxious).

great purchase!

I have been torn myself on either the fmf carbons or the leos. I really like the fmfs because they look like they belong on the bike with all the sharp angles. My concern has been the very loud noise I have heard out of there off road line. Many of my friends have fmf for atvs and are louder then hell (almost too loud) with a nice deep tone that I personally love but I never met anyone with one on street bike for comparison. I have heard a few leos and thought that they sounded okay but thought they could have been were louder. I would like a pipe that i can be heard on. I have always ran carbon two brother systems on all my past bikes because to me they always sounded the best over anyone and I always got great performance out of them. Too bad they dont make it for the SD. What are the thoughts of the populous between these two pipe systems?

Only downside of carbon pipes is that you need to re-pack the mufflers fairly often as otherwise you cook then burn the carbon fibre resin.. And can even catch fire.

That being said I have carbon fibre pipes.. I think they sound much better than all the metal sleeved pipes

"those discs can be fitted where the can joins the y-piece, they're just additional baffling for pussies"

I think those are what LV refers to as the db killers. When I installed mine I put the discs in and left the restrictors in the tail cones. I live in the city and come and go early morning and late nite, so I don't want to irritate the neighbors to much. The first time my wife heard me coming down the alley, she said they sounded "meaty". I also don't want to be viewed as one of the HD lets be loud crowd.
I've driven alongside cops with this set-up and they don't even look.
It's got plenty of roar when I open it up!
