Ive recently decided to get a tool chest as i have so much crap everywheree, i need somewhere to store everything where i can access it easily.
Perfectly timed, i get a voucher through the door from Machine Mart for zero VAT on Clarke products and 10% off everything else.
They have a nice chest i want, ball raced drawers etc.
I missed out on the recent offer at B&Q for a similar sized one for £75!! It was black and made my Torq. Not awesome, but good enough for me and good value.
Anyway, the offer kicks in during a weekend in April, if what i want isnt in stock, i can order it and still get the discount, or call ahead and make sure they get it in on the day for me.
If you fancy it, sign up to their mailing list and you will also probably get the voucher. I can wait to get my work room sorted and sticker up that chest!!

I think that cabin converts to about $155.00 AU dollars which to me would ring alarm bells (read cheap Chinese junk )
Here in Oz we usually associate Sidchrome as being of better quality and I recently bought a similar cabinet that cost $800.00 AU
Sorry for bagging out the cabinet but you usually find that quality does not come cheap.

I would agree but i have seen the units in person and they of sufficient quality for light home workshop use imo. It aint snap on but its good value.
How long they last will have to be tested but build seemed fine to me. Drawers opened nicely and the unit is not flimsy
Lets hope its a good un!

I have had one since my garage was built in 2007 and cannot fault it. Drawers are running smooth, no scratches or blemishes. Full of tools that I dont have a clue how to use.
You need to get some non slip matting to line the drawers though, as I recall only a couple are prelined. I have loads of it so measure up and I will post it to you. E bay is full of twats selling it in small quantities for big money.

In my experience the best of the cheaper end of the market is Halford's professional range.
I imagine Halfords is only available in the UK but its good stuff never the less.

Yeah, i like the Halfords Pro range but even with their current good offers its still gonna hit me for nearly twice the Clarke one!
I usually always buy the best i can cost quality always saves more long term, but i really think the Clarke one will be good enough for my light use.
Saying that, i might swing by both my local shops today and test em out again for quality...ya know....just in case!

Well, i went to check them all out today and the Machine mart one is of a pretty inferior quality. They have better ones of course but price reflects that.
The Halfords basic stuff was ubere cheap, they have a config in the size i want for about £50 but it was even worse quali than the MM one! Their professional range is the only range worth considereing imo. As a result i think i will take abvantage of this offer on.
Its double what i wanted to spend but i think it will last me forever!

I'm really happy with my tool cabinet, it's really easy to move it around, smooth action to open and close, tools are really easily accessible, have all my main tools to hand exactly where I need em and best of all it was free with the tools.

Amazing huh, and it doesn't take up the space of a small scooter in my shed
