Heading down for shows on Saturday and Sunday night near Joshua Tree. Any must do’s in the days before or after within a few hundred mile radius? Decent beach destination on a budget?

Thanks

Well, SoCal is kinda boring, really very little ever going on here.

See this? https://coachellavalley.com/memorial-day-events/

I'd rent a bike, and ride the wheels off it. Plenty of great roads in the region.

J-Tree is kind of a throw from beaches - not sure what gear you'd have when here, but least cost is probably the state beach camprgrounds. A few things: Not the best beach time of the year; tends to be overcast, it's a holiday weekend (!), and the ocean temps are still relatively cold.

There's a racetrack nearby ... I believe the good folks from Moto Forza are hosting a trackday on the 27th (Monday)

Keep us posted on your plans - maybe can connect for a beer or something if in the area.

The plan as it stands is we fly into Palm Springs Thursday night and get settled into a hotel in the yucca valley. Joshua Tree park Friday. Pappy and Harriets Saturday night. Stoned and Dusted Sunday afternoon and night. Monday we pack up and start the drive to San Francisco following the coast. Big Sur, Monterey, spend the night somewhere. Fly out of San Francisco Thursday morning.

Be great to meet up for a beer if our paths cross.

Edit. Might check out chuckwalla Monday.

Okay, now we are getting somewhere. As you stated that your travels north take you to SF you will literally be driving within three baseball throws of my house. It is a natural landing spot from LA to SF. Look up Los Alamos Ca. on google, see...
PM me your itinerary and connecting numbers and I'll set you up,Accommodations, local craft beers, rides through my stomping grounds, Ca. style oak burned Tri-tip.
I cannot for the life of me understand why Indio and the surrounding area has a draw. PS I just rode through there yesterday on my way home from Moto GP Austin, it sucked.
