Oh how I have wanted one of these for about 20 years. Finally!

Big compressor to run air tools, spray guns, whatever. But today I've got it set up with a shot blaster and a bucket of grit and OMG I can see a whole future of effortlessly cleaning and renovating stuff without the power-drill/wire wheel set up that I've used for ages.

Got a big bag of wallnut shell grit and have big, big plans to take off all my carbon fibre parts and change the finish from high gloss gel coat to matt finish. Like F1 Parts. Even darker, meaner, stealth aesthetics. Will keep you all posted.

Look what one pass does to this old rusty car jack. I am sooo excited. Love it!

Dream to buy one maybe for Christmass...

Anyway I think that it must be chosen carrefully with air flow at 250L/min at 7 bar or something like that for sand and chock tools

I spent about a month searching ebay and strategically bidding on used compressors but eventually realised that I could get a new one that was a better spec next day delivery and went for this one. Half the price of the equivalent at Machine Mart. The guys there were pretty good and I bought their gravity fed tank and gun and associated bits but even they said, "Don't buy the compressor from us mate".

This one is German, (made in China), and has a 14 CMF, 90litre tank, 10 bar pressure, 145 psi, and runs on 240 volt domestic 13 amp fuse.

Messy if you have no way of containing it.

I would not use that unit without proper PPE for yourself and anyone remotely near it.

Ive always fancied making/buying a cabinet but could not justify it on the small volume I need to clean.

I'd be interested in some feedback on the walnut shell blasting, I have some BMW barrels (aircooled) that I have in mind for that media
It seems a lot more friendly and would require a lot less masking than bead or vapour. I guess it's better for your health too.

Got another use for your sand blaster. Sign making. Get a plank of wood and glue an old intertube to it. Then cut out your design and blast the soft wood grain away. Gives a nice weather worn look.
You could have the coolest street number on your block. Great gifts for BDays and the like.

DougFir is a good wood to use.
