Grendel beat me to it, I didn't really want to post it.
I really don't want them to fail and drag the name in the mud.

According to the large report in the MCN this week you will indeed be eating the words.
It explains about how their production capacity was shite and the same problem every customer had was waiting a long time for their bikes.
All the SE's are sold and they still cant make them fast enough.
Interestingly there were no reports saying the bikes were shite , in fact quite the opposite.
I also hope they succeed

My long suffering neighbour here in the UK has had his commando for 12 months now......but in truth it has spent more time at norton than it has in his garage plagued by ECU and running problems

That however is nothing compared to the runaround he was given during the build process..... he paid the full list price as a "deposit" and then had to wait two years for the bike that he was told would be 6 months to build. Solicitors ended up getting involved and one engineer finally admitted to him that his bike would have been ready at 6 months if they hadn't diverted production to the US market as it was more lucrative.

The product itself is beautiful and from looking at his bike i would say that the build quality is really topnotch - it certainly doesn't have that nailed together in a shed look...

Norton please just pull your finger out and stop wasting money on stillborn TT dreams! Look after your clients who will in turn then look after you, give you good press, increase your sales turnover and eventually allow you to go racing without busting the bank......

When I was at the IoM a couple of years ago I talked with a veteran who had come back from
Afganistan minus a leg and an arm curtesy of an IED. This guy (who was still in the services as a
trainer) had just used up a large slice of his compensation on an order for a 961 which was to have
hand controls Etc. After reading this material I'm wondering if the poor guy ever did get his bike
and how he's doing. If he didn't It'd be enough to make one think about snotting someone (if not worse ...).

First, I have to say I absolutely love the look of the SE. All those top shelf bits and a style to match it is motorcycle art. Awesome. They were asking for $5K deposits at the 2010 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show and I almost bit. Almost.

Second, I knew SOMETHING was up when Matt Capri was unceremoniously cut loose. You don't parade all over the country touting this guy as Mr. Norton USA then just cut him loose without a peep.

Third, in every article I read the authors touted Garner as being charismatic. That sure wasn't the guy I met at the Long Beach Convention Center. The guy that I met was a pompous ass that thought his shit didn't stink. The guy I met is exactly the kind of guy that heads a company that treats its customers like shit as described in the article.

Anyhow, I hope that Norton succeeds. I'd love to have one one of these days.
