Just finished watching the 5th episode of this brilliant series. So far it's all well before my time. Doesn't paint the US and old imperial states such as UK, France in a great light in places but is fascinating. Shame it's taken so long for someone to make sure a well made, thoughtful insight to the times. How is it being received in the US?

Never heard of it either.
Stone does have a way with a story, or should I say many ways instead of a.
Him and Dan Brown must be cousins.

Glad you're enjoying this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Never heard of it ... As for Stone, he is a grandiose fictionalizer, particularly of anything historical.

I don't get "Showtime" - hell, I barely have cable TV; and then only because they force it down my throat in order to get bandwidth through them. It will certainly turn up on disk or stream.

Of course, I can't judge this current entertainment product (and it is a product ...), but given that its directed, produced, and narrated by Stone, I couldn't help look at it with a skeptical eye.

Of course, in our inextricably linked histories (US, Britain, and France), there is a near endless run of atrocities our respective nation states have undertaken. I can't change that, nor the ugly legacies it leaves us with.

He's not really puting anyone down. And history can always be told from more than one point of view, Stone I would imagine is more from the left of US politics but I just found it fasinating as a lot of this stuff is never really explored over here. Here is a cheeky place to get them http://uberproxy.net/browse.php?u=http% ... %2F208&b=0

Fook Oliver Stone. He's a freakin' commie rat bastard. Him and Michael "fat arse" Moore should be stood up against a brick wall and shot.

There is no untold history of the US... there's just a bunch of spoiled left wing fooks living on the fat of this land trying to to destroy the one fooking place left on this planet that gives people a half a chance to escape tyranny, and better their lives....

Where's Ronald Reagan and Maggie Thatcher when we need them?!
