It's a big bike, didn't they also make tractors?

I was expecting to see the V6 though.

How's the weather down in Florida? I assume that your move is done...

Had the 1200 mirage, back wheel used to jump to the left (RH Gear change) when you changed gear..... chewing gum swing arm...... awesome machine though.
that engine in a modern chasis would still do the business.

My first mistake was "not buying" the 73 SFC 750 for a measly $2,200 USD back in the day,,it had race can's packed up in the crate included in the purchase,,,,,,,my next mistake was taking my deposit back on the Blue,1200 Jota America,,,,(had a grand down on it ),,,purchase price then was $3,600 in 78,,the MV America was a bit more of a draw at $4,500,,,humm, what to do http://www.breganzane.com/rebuilds/spondon/buildup.php

My mate Dave had a 120 Jota which I rode around on for a while.

Heavy, high speed weave, high centre of gravity but it made one of the best noises I have ever heard and I really liked riding it.

Unfortunatly it was always breaking down. The carb sliders were cable activated and the vibration from the motor set up a resonance that shredded them. It was so bad that we carried spares on every ride and became proficient at roadside carb maintenence.

He got fed up and swapped it for an FJ 1200 or some thing like that

Funnily enough I am just back from a weekend in the Malvern hills organised as a birthday treat by my lovely girlfriend and we drove right past Slaters, creators of the original Jota. They are still open for business and had a couple of nice bikes in the showroom. I took a picture and may upload it later.

My current long term, patient search for a bike project has been going on for a while now. Been looking, researching, scanning the mags, ebay and small ads for a Mk1 Laverda Montjuic 500. Looking for over two/three years now for a good one that is original and not a converted Alpino or lower spec 500. One came up but I couldn't afford it at the time. I still have the page of Bike magazine that has a picture of the Monty with the rider taking his brains out of his helmet before riding. Made a great impression on this 17 year old at the time!.

That Mk2 Montjuic just sold on Ebay for a whopping £8,500! How am I ever going to justify or afford prices like that? It was hovering around the 5K mark for all week but had not hit the reserve price.

My dad had a Horex back in the 60's. I want the new VR6 if they ever start selling them in the US.
