Poor kid

I call him kid. Truth is he's twenty four.
He just bought a Honda Nighthawk from me for one thousand bucks. He bought it on May thirty and the cops comfiscated it for no lisence on the thirtyfirst. One day and one grand. The tow company thinks I still own it as that is what the registration is telling them.
I will buy it back on the sixteenth of July if the price is right. I'll give it to the my kid for a college runabout.
Some kids never grow up. I feel for him though, I am sure I was more like him at 24 than I would care to admit.
Truth is recycling is tougher than I thought.
Cut and paste away.

I live in CA too and i have a friend that rides without any registration/ insurance/ and they dont even own the bike. I assume that the bike was stolen. Anyways when i ask him what he would do if he got pulled over he says "run of course," like its the natural thing...I think he is an illegal immigrant. I dont ride with him anymore. Look out for cbr600 riders!

Funny was that the kid showed up on a knackered GS450. I said he could throw a couple hundred into the bike he had and he would have pretty much the same thing.
He said that it had expired tags going back to 2003 and it would cost too much to register.
So the kid rides around for months on end and never gets caught, buys a legitimate ride and gets pulled over in one day.
I talked to him about this whole affair and his responce was. You roll the dice and sometimes its snake eyes.

He's right mate, you roll the dice, we all have at some time, if you're lucky you make it out with some funny stories and no harm done.
Just part of growing up.

Reminds me of one of the most fortunate run ins I had with the law.

I was 18 and had my first registered bike, an xr200, and a fella I worked with offered to sell me his GS550 katana

For the price he had been offered as a trade in, I jumped at it, my first real 4 cyl. Road bike.

So after a few months I get pulled over and I've still only got a 250cc licence, Cop asks me if I've got a licence, I say no, he says, well you wern't hooning around, better get one of your mates to take it home ,you can walk.

Sweet !!!!, Booked in for my big licence the next day

The cops confiscated the bike cuz the kid had no licence or the bike had no licence? Or both?
