Today I had to go on line to search for replacement parts for two simple items.

First was a replacement door handle for my three year old LG washing machine. It broke and was un-glueable so I searched LG parts and soon found a replacement for the one-piece plastic, moulded part finished in silver with a bi-injected rubber finger pad. It cost me under £5.00 with free next day delivery.

Second was a replacement rear airfoil that was missing in action from my three year old Arai RX7 helmet. I soon found a replacement for the one-piece plastic, moulded part finished in black but with no other manufacturing expense or justification for the............. £11.00 cost plus £2.99 shipping.

Hmmmmm.

Just saying.

But how many washing machines were sold worldwide compared to RX7 lids? Bet it was over three times more.
Economies of scale.
