Dropped in at KTM dealer in Crawley, wont say name because they are such a crap shop - like a supermarket- they sell everything, Ducatis and Jap stuff too. Eavesdropped in on some of the cobblers that the salesmen were saying to potential customers. Christ

It is a KTM endorsed deal so should be nationwide. For 10k a 2012 RC8R is a hell of a lot of bike. They want 9.5k for a 2012 Superduke FFS, which (as we all know) is a 2007 Superduke with an orange frame. 10k for a 675R, 9k for a ZX6,9K for a Duke 690R wich would you rather have.

However, when you look at used bikes the waters get a bit more clouded. Is a bog stock 2012 RC8R twice as good as a 2008 RC8 with 4k and one owner? Is it 2 grand better than a (proper) RC8R on an 09/10 plate? It would certainly cost 2k to get the 2012 bike to the same spec as the 09/10 left the factory.

Personally, I prefer my Superduke to the RC8. For the roads I ride I can leave the Rc8 in 3rd and use it like an automatic and it doesnt feel as involving as the Superduke. I am glad I have both otherwise I would feel I had made a terrible trade. Just sayin..........

As for P&H I had no problems buying my EXC from them. They (their salesman Mark) was honest and efficient which is far more than can ever be said for the Devil's own KTM dealer La Gooner motorcycles (voted MCN shithole of the year again).

see, i kinda like the way the RC8 looks with its fairing, the new SD will take care of the HP deficiency if you have to have a naked bike.

Thanks! Now I can either go and stab my eyes out with a screwdriver or start drinking heavy booze to wipe out the memory!
THATS UGLY!!!

Better use of the RC8 engine to power a generator for a small village in Africa or so!
