I'll spare all the details. Basically, NYC sucks compared to southern California, so my move turned into a long vacation instead.

I'll be leaving Teusday most likely. This is my route so far.

If anyone is somewhere along the way let me know we can grab a beer

Why such a meandering route?

I'll be following you to LA pretty soon. The wife's job is taking us there and though I've made a home here in NY, I'm looking forward to more time on my bike in Cali. I'll give you a shout when I land!

I would say if you make it down to Charlotte I'm both around and can give a tour of some breweries and mountain roads. I say the second part because it seems you will be missing the best part of NC (surrounding the blue ridge parkway).

Good luck on your journey! One of the best times of my life was riding across America on my SD. I understand wanting make time, but looks like you are interstating it most of the way. I suggest you do all you can to take State Routes as much as possible, you will meet better people and see more of America. I was able to do 30% Interstates and the rest State Routes or smaller. That 30% was necessary, but sucked! There was a bunch of times the hospitality of the locals amazed me off a State Route, like in the case of an Inn Oklahoma, the owners son spent two hours helping me rewire my rear turn indicators because dipshit yours truly did not check the clearance of the license plate and the rear tyre. You will not find that at a motel 6 off the interstate. Other things I learned, never eat at a chain restaurant and if you are a coffee drinker bring a thermos and fill it up at a mom and pop eatery in the morning, that way you will not have to deal with crap gas station coffee throughout the day. Be safe and have fun!
