Rotors and batteries

Since I think my cast iron brakes are developing a slight warp I have ordered some new Rotors from Braketech in the States. This time I have gone for the stainless steel versions because they are a bit cheaper than ferrous and also because there was only a two week lead time against a month for the iron ones. They are still hideously expensive!

I also have had success getting a total refund from Carrot Cycles for the Shorai battery that failed on me earlier in the year. I had sent it back to them for evaluation and had already bought a new one which has been fine. They have agreed to either send me a brand new one or refund me.

All I can say is that using these batteries for two or three years they are a bit unpredictable. Some seem to be fine, others loose their charge and you certainly can't rely on them being subjected to a lot of water for prolonged time as they don't seem to be sealed and waterproof. (Which is not too good for the SD considering their position on the bike.

Always surprises me - the prices of brake rotors.. They a bloody pricey for pretty much any bike.. Worst example I have come across is my SO's NsR125RR - for which you have the option of an OEM part which is close to £200 - if you are lucky enough to find one, or Chinese knock offs which are still close to £150!

How much have the stainless ones lightened your wallet by?

I don't know the Diavel was up there with £215 per disc...
