I just got back from five days of riding-camping. I played on the, getting to be familiar, roads in Kern and Tulare counties. I crossed over Sherman Pass twice, as it was sooo good the first time I had to do it again.
As long as I was in the six thousand foot and better elevations the weather was perfect.
I ended up in a campground totally deserted. Fifty eight million people in this state and I get an absolutly empty and fine BLM campsite.
I laid on a picnic table ans stared up into a gorgeous night sky. No city lights to counteract the heavonly glow.
I found myself looking for three star configurations (triangles) that would as close as possible represent the Pythagorian theorem. I would look for equalatteral and Isosceles also.
Mostly right though. The closer I could get it to the three four five ratio the better.
Hiway 155 from Issabella to Glennville is never to be missed if I am near.
A carpenter lives with Pythagoras on a daily bases and it is nice to see him shining down from the heaven above in such dominance.
The SD is a really good motorcycle.

I have to agree on the Pythagoras visions... 11 years of wielding a tape measure and Pythagoras is everywhere. I'll never be able to turn off the little tips and tricks of arithmetic.

Just saw a lucky accident today - tall slim girl with long blond hair - beautiful creature - on a motorcycle, not fancy not anything - some old blue suzuki - was a bit late with braking and hit the car in front of her slightly. Nothing bad happened really - but she felt so desperate and confused and unfortunate taking off her helmet to reveal all this beauty... Which made me think, what is the reason such girl go on the bike? People are doing the SAME things for totally DIFFERENT reasons. Think about it for a moment... Me for example. I am grounding my risk-behaviour with the bike. Stupid, yes of course I know it. My wife told me she should have the access to my bank account(s) in case if anything happens, when she saw me driving yesterday (I know she was kidding; and I know also these people has not been kidding when admitted - how such an average guy have such kind of wife...). Anyway, all the driving has been 100% safe, from my point of view. But what else options do you have? Die slowly??? And honestly, from all the options to ground your risk-behaviour the bike it is one of the best and safest, really. I believe I know what I am speaking about.

Anyway, what I was saying .

Recreation at it's best. Clear this site, He wishes to recreate alone.
Saw a strange phenomena of lights flashing from China Lake.
Rescued two balloons that still had a bit of life left in them. Stuck to a bramble by their tales.
I set them free and away they sailed. Helium balloons seem to have two purposes 1 make funny speach 2 sail into the great unknown.
When Dig was little he asked " where do the go?" , I said to Maricopa. Years later he and I are traveling through Maricopa and he is looking high and low for spent balloons.

Did you ride the Caliente Bodfish road? An excellent set of twisties, but you have to be on the look out for cattle and cow pies on the road.
