If you look on the V5 there is a part to be completed for export. (not sure if that what the above link is nver clicked)

I sold a bike to a Polish guy last year. All I did was write a letter to the Dvla with it's reg and vin and stated that it had been sold for export, they sent me a letter back acknowledging this and that was that.

My mate sold his KTM to a German guy on ebay a few weeks ago. He was going to pay cash on collection. He never turned up.

i had a car sell on ebay to someone from somewhere in europe (can't remember exactly), though he never turned up, ichecked out what i was supposed to do with reference v5. there is a section on it for export that you fill and send back to th dvla and give the rest of the log book to the buyer so they can register the car in there country.
