Should Marquez be penalised

It would appear that a lot of Dani and Jorge fans would agree?

I voted No Penalty, Marc has made what would have been a boring season exciting.

Of course not. Anyone who would suggest otherwise doesn't understand that racing is racing.

Anyway, IMO Pedrosa is soooo uninspiring and boring and whinging and I'm absolutely sick of him taking up a good place in the leading team. I wish he'd fall of the edge of a big cliff and never be seen again. Moto GP needs more people with skills and personality like Marquez so it's fun and exciting to watch. That's why we watch it. Not to see some boring procession because a few people have better bikes or are so small that they can make a good start and lead from the front, (which is seemingly the only way Pedrosa can ever win a race). That's why Cal has been so great to watch too. He's a fighter and an underdog and has made me love Moto GP again. Dorna need to realise that penalising riders is more than upholding a set of rules about behaviour. It's setting a president for the kind of spectator sport that the series will eventually reflect. Marquez should be given a medal not a penalty.

Defo NOOOOOO!
He is just sour coz it was his birthday...
Mabe he was expecting the others to let him win coz of his birthday.

He is still an amazing rider and in a way I really feel for the guy. He knows it was his year by being on a faster honda and Stoner gone. He didn't count on MM to be so fast from the word go.
He realizes he will be forever runner up.
Still no reason to winge.

Yes, you crash into a guy making stupid moves. A message needs to be sent that that is not going to gain you points. Pedrosa was in front, if Marquez wanted to crash into someone he should pick Crutchlow. Crutchlow is bound to take an off track excursion or crash out altogether anyway, where Dani ussually stays on a bike the whole race, unless he's punted by over exuberant riders.
It seems payback is a bitch for his 06 debacle.
Most understand that racing is racing and typing is typing and spelling is spelling and .....
You win a race by finishing, You cannot finish if you are punted off the track. Racing is to the finish line, not to the guy in front of you rear tyre. Anyone that differs from this opinion, doesn't understand racing. Go watch Nascar.

Next year they will have to give Marquez a four race ban at the start of the season just so it looks like Lorenzo and Pedrosa are nearly in with a chance at the end.

he's learnt to moan from stoner, Marquez is racing, if it was'nt for him it'l lose its fans, he went straight on to avoid the twat, who should have pulled over as he knew it was only a matter of time before he had him, then Marquez recovers and trouces Lorenzo!!!! should'nt have bloody traction control, Marc prob does'nt use it any way !!! he's far better than them all

Yeh; racing, where you should pull over when your competition is right behind you.

It is racing. No one is saying that Pedrosa should pull over but...... Pedrosa was going SLOWER than Marquez and holding him up. So Marquez is having to PASS the Spanish midget. And in doing so clips him and cuts the wire. (unfortunate casualty of racing). Then Marquez shows how much faster he could go without being held up by the midget and wins the race. What's your problem DD?

I hold a higher standard in the premier class. This is not dirt track racing on an old horse track. Marquez is fast and a beautiful sight to behold on two wheels. He is the person to beat in this series clearly due to his racing prowess and the Honda being I believe a touch better than the Yamaha. His semi wild abandon style makes me think that the traction limits a further away than most expect.
I cannot and will not deny that he brings great pleasure to viewing racing. I do believe he owes a touch more respect to the idea that riding up someones ass and creating situations as this is not what this series is about.
58 wasn't 93 in ability to ride a bike. Let's hope that 93 doesn't take on 58's motus operandi.

This is racing, a little touching, brushing, and leaning on one another is going to happen. As long as it is not violent, intentional, or anything like a supercross block/stuff pass, it's fine and to be expected.

Part of me laughs because Pedrosa, a world class rider, has launched himself after merely two seconds without one electronic rider aid, cannot stay on the bike and use throttle control. But I know that once you get self programmed into riding a certain way, any alteration of the settings carries a high risk, especially if you don't know it.

They need to go back to 500 two strokes with no rider aids?
Why do they need 1000 four stroke bikes anyway?
As for Marc that kid makes me laugh but he is a danger to others, In a way he remindes me of Marco 58 I hope im wrong.
If Marc didn't go wide when they touched I think it could have been a disaster.

I can be a grumpy bastard at times but I’m not short, dour or monotone so I do not make this defence of the midget (as many seem to think of him) out of any sense of solidarity.

I have no idea if he will ever win the championship but he has won a shit load of GP’s against the very best of the rest, wet and dry and on all sorts of tracks. Weather he eventually bags a championship or not the man is a wizard on a bike and graces the top flight of the two wheel racing world. The fact that Stoner before and possibly the Mark bloke now can produce the extra fraction of a % more consistently doesn’t in my view detract from what the midget offers.

Yes he seems to have had a charisma bypass but we need straight guys to make the animated ones look funnier than they actually are. I think the contrast adds to the entertainment.

To address the question, no I don’t think he should be penalised for the crash. Bit of a freak outcome from a very minor contact which could not reasonably be anticipated. If he had directly punted him off then I would be arguing yes for the penalty as being punted off from behind due to somebody else’s mistake ruins the entertainment for everybody.

When the flag drops the bullsh#t stops.
I can't remember who said it but regardless ?
Moto GP,WSBK,BSB,AMA,Speedway,Trials...I try to watch as much as possible.
The agendas and politics behind the various comps don't really detract from the spectacle that is top class riders giving everything.
IMHO
