Bummer

The SD is a bastard when it does that. No chance of revival. No chance of a bump start. My old H2 will kick start with a dead battery. In fact it will kick start from the alternator without a battery even fitted I'm told. Ah, the good old days.

Good luck, hope the push is not far or the wait too long.

........'cept it's another engine seize not flat battery.

Was puzzled 'cos dying battery voltage usually results in backfire, etc and then engine slowly dies. This time, engine went a little 'fluffy' and then died.

Checked out all electrics, all good. Manually turned engine and hit lock point - turned crank back as far as possible, hit starter, brief spin stopped with loud clunk - guess it's dropped valve again.......

Will strip out top end tomorrow.

oh man....

I fear your engine is cursed.. it may be time, should budget allow.. sell off the parts and get a 1290.
