I am in constant amusement whenever i watch football and a players name ends in ski.
It harkens me backntonterms like grid iron and there is a good chance there is snow on the ground.
Whetehr is is a jankowski or a romanowski or brewski, now those are football names.
there was a tyme when black people got some decent jobs in america they where tough jobs in steel mills and manufacturing plants all through the mid west. Share cropping in the south left them poorer than any farm worker has a right to be so they heaed north to the factories.
Not long after establishing themselves as a great reliable hardworking group of citizens, along came an imigrant group of eastern europian giants that also new about a hard days work and this group competed for the wages that were avalable. The blacks were not to keen upon the new arivals and it was said that they were nothing but a bunch of hungarian donkees, hince the term honkie.
Those honkies now play allongside the blacks in a game that is a pleasure to watch.
