Went Helmet shopping today. Went to a large motorbike accessory shop near my place. They only sell gear, no bikes, great place to wander around. As I have a massive noggin I was a little bit restricted on my choice of helmets.
Was looking at some Shoei's, Arai and Nolan helmets. As usual the sizing was a joke. XL couldn't get past my ears. XXL just fit but pushed my cheeks into my eyeballs and my chin rubbed the chinbar. Ended up with an Rjays SP2 in XXXL. Yes lads that is 3 X's. Found it to be very comfortable , looks good (imo).

This picture doesn't quite do it justice because of the yellow lighting. It is Pearl white, black and a bit of silver. Total Price $349 AUD. A little cheap some may say, and I myself was at first a little skeptical. The assistant (an older biker looking dude) assured me it was a good helmet and it met all Australian standards

Anyway once I got home I decided to do a little research and found several reviews and ratings including this one
http://www.crash.org.au/ratings.php
Which rate the Rjays SP2 quite well
Seems expensive does not always = better and cheaper does not always = shithouse
Just curious what sort of lids you guys have and there pro's and con's, would you buy another one etc
Time will tell how well my cheaper helmet holds up to the rigors of regular usage. From all reports most people that own one are very happy with them

P.S. I need a large head to hold my massive brain parts (cough)
Huzzah to my fellow cranially well endowed brothers and nuts to all you pinheads

Can you post a pic of your noggin? Maybe next to a normal size one so we can see difference. Bit quiet today could do with a giggle.

I've got an old AGV XR2 Rossi/Gothic, but will most likely upgrade to the new 2012 AGV Pista Rossi is pimping these days after it goes on clearance sale next year. I don't think helmets get anymore pinhead than what AGV makes. Bell probably makes the fattest helmet that I've tried on. Even the Arai seemed to wide for my head. Shoei is similar fit to AGV, but I like the AGV liners better.

We knew you got this Rjays, we could see it on google earth....

I got an Shoei last year and I regret I got it, all the hipe about Shoei this and so on...
It is noisy, the visor is crap and when you use sunnies like me or glasses it is sh*t.
This one looks better and nicer price.

I'll buy a shark next time

Sorry to say ktmguy but Shark are noisy as well I had one and took it back.
I always wear ear plugs these days heaps better and you get used to it. Also don't bother getting the fitted type ear plugs you are better off with Max Lite ear plugs they cost $50 for 200 pair.

its all the fooking power ranger vents that makes helmets noisy, even the Arai RX7 is a bloody noisy thing to wear, the Quantum is much quieter.....
My 7 year old Arai Condor is the quietest lid I have owned, only has a chin guard vent
