Hey guys, Nareik (a member here) asked could I post this for him as he's dyslexic and find typing extremely difficult. He bought his 07 'duke (06 model-late reg) recently and stipped it down pretty extensively to give it a mega clean and tidy up a few bits. Now when he starts it, it runs for 5 seconds or so and then cuts out. He has taken the battery out and recharged it to no avail. The fault code W 17 comes up on the clocks which indicates a lambda fault yet he hasnt touched the down pipes on the exhaust. Can anyone shed some light on the scenario? Cheers Jay

Tip over sensor in the headlight mask is a common one.

Aha....that could very well be it so! I'll get on the blower and tell him to start his investigations so!

and remember when your putting the sensor back in the headlight is laid down in the forward position...... have seen it where one was installed with the UP bit up , but when the headlight was refitted it was in fact down!

Unplug it and the bike will still start if he's not sure its the issue.
