Hi Guys,

Unfortunately had my SD stolen from the top of Leman Street in London E1 at 2 pm on Wednesday , it is a standard black Superduke registration is KE07 EBK...if anyone from here happens to see it I would be grateful if you could inform the police. It happened in broad day light and it took the thieves just a few minutes to ride it off according to an eye witness. Bike has a working Meta alarm/immoboliser and was locked up...how they did it so quick is puzzling

Eye witness took pictures on his phone...it was a gang of 4-5 scooter riders surrounding the main thief trying to block peoples view...the Police said the common mode of operation is for a scooter to turn up with 2 up on...and the thief goes to work...A Ducati got nicked in the same area a few hours earlier according to the police.

So just got to wait to see how much the insurance pays out ...gutted as I had the bike from new and it was very low mileage and mint condition,,,if anyone is selling an SD with low mileage then I would love to hear from you...could not think of living without this bike in my garage

cheers all

Cnuts!!! Datatool is far harder as it hardwired in and not just plug and play.

Keep an eye on Fleabay, Gumtree (this is a prefered place to sell, less profile) and Preloved.

Keep an eye on Chanel 4 news - that's when i saw mine next 2 weeks after it was stolen in London being used to rob the Mozafarian jewellery shop in Brompton Road...

I got it back soon after and the little scroats got 4 years.

Should have given them 20 years.
Sorry about your bike mate the penalties need to be increased to 10 years jail for auto theft I'm sick of these scum.

Met the old bill this week and they said the other bike stolen in the same area about an hour before mine is now in Holland, as it had a tracker fitted. The detective said the gang ship them over to Lithuania, he reckons loads go over there, its English scum getting recruited by these Eastern European gangs who also do the thieving.

I want a superduke again but I m going to be so paranoid now leaving it anywhere

Also what are insurance companies like for paying out ? Never had a bike nicked before...it was in mint condition with just under 8000 miles on the clock...what do you think they will give me?

Cheers all, stay safe

That sucks bud. Hopefully they have informed the Dutch police and they are going to move on the bike with the tracker. They might find yours with it.

They'll go on the book price. Don't take their first offer unless you are happy with it though.

Did you have any locks on the bike? I always put a disk lock on the rear disk and a brake lock on the front brake lever. Won't stop thieves with a van but hopefully enough to move kids along to another bike.

Sorry to hear about your bike. Sounds like you won't be seeing it again.
If you can, always chain it to something immovable, at least it can't be picked up or dragged. I had a bike stolen that just had a disc lock on it but they had a van. I guess disc locks are deterrents to the casual thief but If they want it they'll have it though.
With regard to insurance - I agree with Klinck - never accept the first offer. If you get into negotiation with the insurance company, send them examples of ads in MCN, Autotrader etc, preferably dealer rather than private sales.
It takes a while to get over the paranoia - its like being burgled.
Good luck with replacing your SD
