HellO All: I'm in search of a quality winter jacket. I know some of you are in to winter sports so i'm wondering what jacket you can recommend. I need a coat that will keep me warm and dry in all outdoor activities with nothing too bulky.

Suggestions please:

In 30 years of riding the best winter kit I ever owned is RUKKA. I almost look forward to summer ending so I can start wearing this stuff.

You on about riding kit or a normal jacket for when off the bike?

If riding coat, as Bic said Rukka is awesome, but Aerostich is worth a look.

If normal, North Face has always done me well, with Berghaus a worthy alternative. For lighter stuff I find Peter Storm or Marmot good. With myself in the military, we use a lot of Buffalo or Snugpak stuff as well

No bike riding in the winter for me... So it's an activity coat I'm after.

You can't get much better than Rab, I've been in horrendous weather in mine and it's kept me dry, i've also got the trousers. event is a new technology that allows far more moisture to escape than gore-tex and it works really well, if you're not going out in shocking weather soft shell is very breathable and will keep most weather out. Here's a link to the jacket I have.. http://rab.uk.com/products/mens-clothin ... acket.html

You didn't say what sort of activity?
Off-bike outdoor winter activity for me is field sports.
Provided you don't want anything ostentatious the hunting and general field sports clothing is truly fantastic out door gear and the good stuff lasts for ever.
Norrona is some of the best hunting gear you can buy (check out Ray Mears on the subject) as is Musto
I use a mix of Musto, Noronna and Mountain Equipment if that's of any help.
