Think I'm going to convert my SDR to a trackbike as my recent run out on the road wasn't enjoyable without riding in a way that would be frowned upon...... Having only ridden on track really for the last 3 years I think I'm going to stay that way, might get a 690 SM for the road?
Had an odd day yesterday at Oulton Park and came away thinking I need a proper sportsbike for the track but then think Klinky and Stalker can map much quicker than me on an SD so maybe a new bike isn't the fix and I should stick with it. Most likely that I struggled yesterday as I hadn't ridden in 10 months, never been to Oulton Park before and went straight in the fast group!
So.....looking at swapping the body work for track fairings. The old threads on the forum mainly have broken links or the businesses no longer operate. Google found me this link: http://www.perfect-fairings.com/en/prod ... -battle_12
Anyone used these or another alternative and know how well they fit?

what times were you doing Oulton in
SD is great fun on track , but if you're looking to go faster a sportsbike is probably the way to go IMHO

If you mean a belly pan that is legal for racing then Skidmarks do one. I have a carbon version but they do a cheaper ABS one that is from the same mould.

I was at Oulton park on the 25th and I thought you were going well. I was on a old yam R6 in the inters group but have a SD 990 on the road, and I cant imagine anything more fun than a SD on track!
they might lack abit down the straights but cream it up in the corners.
ill be searching for a SDR 990 track bike for next year, let me know which trackdays you book on and well tear it up on track SD style
