I put up a poster of Anthony Gobert on the shitter wall at work last week. I went through a selection or race posters that my son had rolled up in his closet. It seemed to fit the space i was held too and since Gobert never set the world on fire like his bro did and I knew that Digger would not miss it, up it went.
A shit head worker decided to rip it down while I was gone and I told the boss to have shithead leave my shithead alone. He made the dickweed buy me a new poster and what did he get me you ask? Casey Stoner on the number one Ducati Desmo. It is actually some type of vinyl wall art. Kind of cool, but the sorry I flucked with your shit letter was cooler so I mounted it instead. Any way it got me tginking about the coingkeedink that he actually ended up getting a faster Aussie as a replacement. I met The Gobert senior at Laguna Seca when there was a practice. All three boys were in the AMA at the time and it was pretty cool. He was wheelchair bound and swore like a sailor. I have met few Aussies and I thought The he represented the nation to a tee.
Funny we do not hold our racers in high regard as far as education goes but as far as racecraft and dedication to a sport Aussies are sure some Diggers.

the guy got a huge break at a young age and wasn't equipped to deal with it, as LC4 says, wasted talent.

I saw him race,.....so much talent, .....so little brain. Who in their right mind gets sponsored rides offered in this competitive field, then throws it all away smoking dope etc. What a cock!
Deserved what he got , there's plenty of talent coming out of Aus, without the embarrassment of dickheads like him detracting from the true talent looking for their " break" !

A really unfortunate fall for him. He could never get over the gear. A lesson to be learned for the support needed for young riders.
