With previous rides I've been members of forums dedicated to GSXRs and K series BMWs and those aleays turned into self congratulatory drivel. There is none of that here, just good information and experience sharing. A breath of fresh air on the 'web'.
A round of applause to all the members !!!!

When I first joined I was pretty clueless (and some say still am...) but have gained much experience on so many levels, riding, mechanics etc, I remember DrF's post were knowlegable and funny, I went to his funeral even though I had never met him, there have been some memorable members JehadJoe with his posts I could never quite understand and dont know if I will ever reach his post count, BUZZ who modded his bike to the max in ten minutes and sold it just as fast then bought a S1000rr a promptly binned it.
Having met loads members of this forum every one has been a top bloke (and lass) and have some new friends and riding buddies to boot. When ever you try to explain this to any significant other they are like "your off to meet your friends from the internet" and make it sound like a homoerotic meet they just dont get it.
This forum has the best banter, best sense of humour and best information will members who are willing to help you out when ever possible, I dont even have an SD (working on it) but im still here because I enjoy it, the thing that sets this forum apart is the lack of nobjockeys/keyboard warriors and those that have reared their head have been shot down in flames in an instant.
Group hug.

i always catch myself just staring upon the beauty of the 'Izzey'.. love the thing and she has never steered me wrong or let me down.... even after completely stuffing up a few corners here or there (once folding the edge of the front tyre), she always kept me true and got me out the other side. Wasnt anything i could have done about the car though.
I dont think i have ever loved something for more than two years however there is another addition now (grandfathers old merc) that i always look back at lovingly... maybe im changing or maybe they are just awesome.
and you guys on here have been great... when i knew nothing you all helped and steered my in the right direction (klink, bash, DP, jehadjoe, etc...)
now i hope that i can add the same as those guys have done for so long.
that and wherever you go... eveyone loves the superduke, they are niche and rare... 'nice bike' or 'that things awesome... looks like its out of transformers or something' are things that are others have said to me.
and are quite surprised how quick it can get round a corner (guys of SE QLD know how much of a weapon these things up Mt G).
great bike, great like minded people... people who could have gone the most powerful/fast but decided for something that is ludicrously fun, handles well and makes you want to do the stupidest things imaginable... been great guys... cheers

4 and a half years and about 55000 miles on the old SD and SDR combined. Best road bike evar!
I feel a bit of a fraud saying that now she is up for sale, but I've made some great mates on here and had some of the best times of my life with em on rideouts and trips.
Hope it never ends!

But I have been luking for a few weeks while buying my SDR. During the 2nd great depression I had to sell 1 bike so I put my KTM 250 XC-F and my 2006 GSXR1000 up for sale and the response I got from both the ad's is the same difference between most forums and this one. Stupid ass lowballers vs intelligent, informed questions

AGRO!

Had my bike for a year before I found the forum.
Never been much for modding bikes, prefering to keep them pretty much standard.
But thanks to all the helpful folk here it gave me the knowledge and courage to give it all a go.
As a noob here it can look like a bit of a UK lovefest but you soon realise that there have been good relationships formed thanks to the forum and that most are more than willing to help out.
I can see myself having other bikes but think this will be a keeper, after 2.5 years of ownership it still makes me smile everytime.

Was googling for some info and found this treasure chest.
All up nice people here willing to help and share info!
Also peeps here like a laugh and always ready to take the piss without holding a grudge!
Can't sell it as I always wanted one and it is not the bikes fault. Neet to go 300km to Cairns to find a winding road or go to Brissy for a trackday. (probably get turned down due to Mivv's to loud).
It was almost easier to leave the SD in NZ and fly there for the weekend.
Sorry ... rant over.
