I don't know what it is, but I not only DON'T see the Tuono as direct competition for the "Dragster" (apple v. orange - Brutale RR would be a better point of comparison), but I find the Dragster a ridiculous styling exercise - and a failure at that. So contrary to MV's usual ethic regarding design - maybe that was the point ... Bored with products being perpetually labeled the most beautiful available.

Given the choice of these two: Tuono, without hesitation. I think that Aprilia has a done a fine job improving the appearance of the Tuono with latest incarnation. It ain't a Brutale, but I could live it - as the rest of its goodness easily makes up the difference at this point.

Canyon/track carver? Tuono, you can't beat the V4 and that APRC electronics package.

Bike night dude magnet? Dragster.

Have a good look at the MV and you will see how they seem a bit cheaply made especially those rad covers plus they don't hold there value.
Go the Aprillia

Just go for test ride and then decide. Whichever makes you happier will be right choice. If I would listen advises and depend on what I saw in paper magazines couple of years ago, I would never buy RC8 and that would be a huge mistake. But I never worried about money loose etc.... Ride them.

I have a V twin tuono R fun bike.
Not as street fighter as my SD.
Brutale is sexy.

Tough call, ride and decide.

Design wise..I'm not keen on the Dragster...
The Brutale yes..I haven't riden one but when
I was looking after I wrecked my S.D. I had price
more on my mind.. MV's are more expensive here
in Cali...
The Aprilia V4 is awesome..
I AM going to be looking into the new Tuono too...
My RSV4 is awesome too but the riding position
gets to me after 100 miles...
Not a bike for a 3 day weekend cruice up the coast.

Reads to me like you're another that's going to be shopping for a Multistrada (or Ninja1K, or GSX-S1000F, or - oh please don't - some kind of retarded "adventure" bike) ...

What about the wheels??? No runout?
No warped brake rotors?
What about stealer competence?
Reads to me like it's only some bars/risers away from being pretty damn comfortable too ... I understand that the unloved Mana GT risers are a popular mod (?).[/quote]

Tried them both today ,bought a donnington blue aprilia , comes in a few weeks
I think the dragster looks miles better than the brutale , though you can see where they've cut corners on components , it was the sub 170kg that appealed I suppose , the aprilia is in a different league though
