Hello, Welcome Bamm-Bamm, Test rides are deceiving, they will not

reveille the true beast, unless they can give you a year to see just how

much you like it? Or Not ??

That's ok I guess. They were doing new 06 factory run outs for 15,990 I think last year when ktm released the 07. I'd be shopping around though.

Akro price is about right though i think. But there's other brand pipes which are much cheaper and just as good...

I think i paid about $1200 for the slipon evos 8 months back from KTMPARTS.
Was origionally quoted about $2300 from melbourne stores and that was there best price.

Its Hard cos if you wait till jan you could probebly get the 07 model for much less.
If you get the 05 i think they could give you a better price.

Loving it so far, I did go for a couple of test rides before deciding on the SD.

Done about 160km's on the new bike today, even though it was windy and showers here in Melbourne. Just concentrating on running the motor in and getting the first 1000km out of the way!

I have a set of Akro's going on at the first service, hopefully they'll clear up low rpm fuelling, certainly seens a bit erractic down there. Apart from that the bike is so much more comfy to ride after my fireblade!

Most of my riding will be around town with weekend scoots around the hills nearby.

I'd like to spend some time doing riding skills courses at a track and I will probably take the occasional passenger too, so a SD it is!

Thanks for the welcome and responses.

SDR from what I've read is not a town bike. I can have some fun on my SD round London but of course it's the open twisty roads where it is happiest.

No worries! By the way you will love the Duke its great but the fueling is a bit gay, But if you think we have problems you should have a look on the Ducati street fighter forum its sound worse than the Duke and its a $30k bike. Ive only had my duke for 2 weeks and havent had much riding as the stinking rain has been heavy up this way.
Ive just put a set of Yoshi carbons on the bike and the fueling is heaps better and thats with standard map. I also put a ball bearing in the hose that go's from the air box to the SAS valve so I dont have any popping on decel.
The next thing Im getting is the 02 eliminators so no more closed loop.

Hi guys,
Bought a new 09 Orange and Black SD yesterday. I'll put two pics up in the right thread later.

For the Aussie members I flew up to Brisvegas from Canberra for the day to test ride 2 second hand SD's and a second hand SDR.

The privately owned SD was good. The SD at Moorooka was a bit rough and as Paul (aka looney888) mentioned, the sales people were quite forceful.

I ended up at Maroochydore (Pro Griffith Motorcycles) where the 2nd hand SDR was. Took it for a spin, and while really impressed, decided it was a bit rough for me. Then saw the new 09 on the floor. The folks at Pro Griffith were super friendly and not pushy at all. Jason there is a great guy, and did me a fantastic deal. I saved over $6,500 on RRP. And that included shipping it to my door!!!

Now just have to wait till the 19th for it to be delivered

troy

Checked out the photos, very nice, How the hell did the throttle end up like that ?. Surely it comes assembled in the crate, someone had to take it off and install it above the lever ??.

Can't believe you have to wait, I would have ridden it back to Canberra, some great roads to take in on that journey

Are they sorting rego out for you as well ?.

Sounds like you got a great price.

i'm dealing with the pro group out my way, not a KTM road bike dealer but excellent service just the same.

hey sunnbmx, i'm glad this SD thing is working out well, i hope it rides as good as everyone claims cause i've worn out my welcome at the ducati dealers in se qld! seems i should be grateful they're there to hand exorbitant amounts of cash to and get attitude for my trouble, other way round methinks........ so i know the feeling of "oh crap! not him again!"

G'day all,
Tim from Sydney here,
Purchased an 09 from one of the members here, (James-327HJ) in June.

It already has pipes/motohooligan airbox,2nd flies removed,G2 throttle and obd cable.
I've picked up so much great info from the forum both pre and post purchase, it's a valuable resource.
Enjoying the bike and looking forward to a long Summer !
