Thanks for the welcome guys, I'll look forward to the banter!!
I tried to buy the bike from 3 different dealers!
Dealer no.1 couldn't/wouldn't give me a part exchange on my Monster 1000.
Dealer no.2 promised to get back to me within 2 days with a deal. Didn't hear anything after 6 days. Phoned them again and was promised a call back with 30 mins. Didn't get back to me until after I'd done the deal at dealer 3
Dealer No.3 - did me a deal I was happy with. Turned up on Saturday to pick the bike up to find they had forgotten all about me. Bike had not been PDI'd and no paperwork had been done. In fairness, they did pull out the stops and I was out of there with the bike in 2.5 hours. But on top of that, they can't fit me in for the first service for 4 weeks, so I'm now restricted to 600 miles for the next month!
Really glad to have the bike though and I'll just put this down to experience and get on with enjoying the bike

sounds very typical of dealers in the UK to me to be honest.
i've been pretty lucky with dealers i've used over here on the whole.
