Hello

I have recently signed up to the forum having just bought through Bracken an ex-2008 Superduke Battle SDR, SJB Racing’s No.47 ridden by Richard Cooper – the bike literally had my name, or at least my initials, on it……………………………….

I would be interested to learn of other’s long term daily/regular use experience, particularly with this and last year’s ex-race bikes because, with my Ducati 996S, the bike will be used for a daily commute from mid-Kent to Central London with the occasional track day. The SDR replaces a stolen ‘supermotarded’ KTM 525 EXC (anyone looking for OE fuel tank, wheels, tyres, sprockets, etc?) and, more recently, a KTM Duke II which now has some 56,000 miles on the clock.

The SDR is, of course, standard except as modified by the full race kit permitted this year, including a full Akrapovic system, and the suspension has been reworked by K-Tech.

The bike is fitted with a Sigma Performance slipper clutch and I have added a KTM alarm, Skidmarx rear hugger, headlight screen and, …er….., KTM heated grips, as it has been a cold January thus far.

The bike is also about to have a Power Commander fitted and suspension set-up by HM Racing – having now done some 1,000 miles on the SDR, the PC is a definite requirement and the suspension needs a little adjustment for the current state of London’s roads.

Only problems so far are a fading/failed digital speedometer and an oil leak from the spark plug rocker box sleeve on the front cylinder, all replaced and/or repaired under warranty.

I would add that I have known Bracken for about 20 years and would unreservedly recommend them as I would, incidentally, ProTwins in Godstone for Ducati.
